They met yesterday, with the host team claiming a 5-1 victory. Today they play again and the Czechs defeated the Britons again to finish in fifth place. The pre-game favourites started well, but couldn´t score the opening goal in the first period. But after just eight seconds of play in the second, David Nistor took advantage of a huge British mistake and made it 1-0. The Czechs were very active and managed to score three more goals in the second period. The match was very nervous and wild, producing three five-minute penalties. Miroslav Nistor and Tomáš Keprt kept the ball out of the Czech net to help the Czech U15 team to a 5-0 win.

The Czech U16 women´s national team played only one match at the Junior World Cup - at the end championship they fought with Great Britain. The Czech team soon scored the first goal and in the end won 6-1. Team Great Britain took the bronze medals.

Slovakia won the first match between these teams by a 3-1 score, but in the bronze medal game they came across the Czech Republic U16 again. This time, however, the home team rejoiced. The Czechs built a two-goal lead before the Slovaks managed to get one back, but they would get not closer. The bronze medal has been won by the Czech U16 team.

Fourteen goals, many chances and a dramatic finish. The final game of the Junior World Cup U16 boys division had everything. Canada West defeated Canada East 8-6 and claimed the tournament victory. Forward Dawson Pasternak, MVP and top scorer of the World Cup, helped the West with one goal and two assists in the final, helping his team to celebrate with the trophy at the end.

The final game brought a parade of goals, which was won by Canada West. The game was decided during the second period, which the West gained lead and the East was no longer able to answer. Canada West win the gold medal after going through the entire tournament undefeated.

The first match of Saturday´s schedule in Ceska Trebova showed British energy and effort. However, the GB team did not achieve its first three points. After really tough first period, the Czechs gradually were more and more superior and scored twice on the power play. Penalties were especially a key factor in the British loss because the Czechs maintained the lead and, thanks to their confident performance and efficient tactics, defeated GB.

The encounter between two teams of ball hockey power from overseas was a great specticle for the Czech fans. The Canadian teams East and West certainly didn´t spare anything, with battles for every loose ball. The East in the 34th minute, but everything changed within a few minutes of the end of the third period, when goals by Pasternak and Roulette suddenly gave the West a 3-2 lead. In the end, the West came out on top in this tactical tug-of-war in the U16 category and earned the three points to move into first place.

The Slovaks managed to win their second game in a row. The favoured team scored the first goal after 10 minutes of play on a penalty shot, then added three more goals before the end of first period. The Britons got five power plays and 12 shots, but couldn´t overcome Borovský or Hrubovský in the Slovakia goal. At the other end of the rink, Rae had a lot of work. He saved 70 shots; however, Team Slovakia still scored 11 goals and won 11-0. Siakeľ and Kupčo each recorded hat-tricks.

The host team remains undefeated in the U18 girls division of the Junior World Cup. In the first game, they won 6-1, but the game against Slovakia was much more dramatic. The Czechs took the lead twice in the first period, but Slovakia managed to tie both times. After a goalless second period, it was just about one scoring chance. Two minutes before the end of the match, during a Czech power play, Patricie Škorpíková put the ball into the Slovak net, and the Slovaks didn´t manage tie the game again. These same two teams will meet in the tomorrow in Litomyšl.

It was not such a bad start from the Czech point of view, but it the score eventually became one-sided. After the first period, the Czechs trailed by only a goal, but the Canadians scored three times in a minute and the game was decided. Canada West eventually won 11-4. Tomáš Lhota scored twice for the Czechs.

The first and second periods were very successful on the part of the young Czechs. Canada East was kept at bay by the excellent goaltending of Jan Kuryvial, who showed countless great saves. The game was decided by frequent Czech penalties and six Canadian goals in the third period.

A really tough game ended the schedule in Ceska Trebova on Thursday. The evening game was thrilling, especially for the fans, thanks to lots of breakaways and bounces. The big battle between two favourites of Junior World Cup was really tough, and after a penalty shot in the second period, Canada East got the superiority and was more effective on the power play. These facts helped the North American squad to an important 4-2 win. The most valuable and productive player of the match was Canadian forward Ryan Greene, who scored three of his team´s four goals.

Litomyšl – The Czech junior girls managed to win their second match at the Junior World Cup by beating Slovakia 6-1. The Slovak girls perfectly reacted to the first Czech goal in their own power play but it was the only goal they scored. From that moment on, the Czechs were much better team and scored another five goals. The first head-to-head match of this tournament finished in favour of the host Czech Republic.

Great Britain showed an incredible performance during the first two periods. Goalie Callum McGrellis surprised the Canadian offense and made 70 saves while conceding just one goal! But in the last fifteen minutes, the Canadians got much stronger and scored six times, so the British boys lost their hopes and Canada West took three more points.

The Canadians took the lead when they scored two quick goals in just 10 seconds. Although Slovakia scored back, they couldn´t turn the scoreline in their favour. Canada showed fast teamwork and controlled the game until the end, so for the second time in the tournament, Slovakia lost against a team from Canada.

Litomyšl – Another comfortable win for the Czech girls against Great Britain, this one by a score of 11-0. The Czechs scored eight goals in the first period and the coaches then let the best players to rest. On the other hand, the debutants played a lot, which helped them to adapt to international ball hockey.

The Czech team was better from start to finish. Already in the second minute, Vaclav Kovarik opened the scoring. By the end of the first period, three goals had been scored, with the hectic moment of the match coming in the second period. The second period brought many penalties for Team GB, with two players being ejected from the game. Despite these moments, the British cadre scored its first goal, courtesy of Alister Rae.

Canada has checked the game´s development from the start and the match ended accordingly. The start of the game was very balanced and fans had to wait until the 13th minute for the first goal. Then the floodgates opened, and nine goals were scored on the Czech net. Dawson Pasternak´s young talent flickered in the match as he scored four goals.

It is not common that both teams are happy after the end of the match. In this case, though, maybe the team that lost 5-0 can celebrate even more. Great Britain performed extremely well and played with the favoured Slovaks through a tough match. For the first time in the tournament, Charlotte Jackson conceded less than 10 goals and the young players of both teams enjoyed it properly.

The most entertaining match of Friday´s U16 schedule was obvious. Nevertheless, the "federal derby" of two nations which lived together in one country in the past started unexpectedly. The Slovaks took a two-goal lead and they were playing a really fast game. Moreover, the Czech forwards were slightly inefficient in scoring chances and thanks to that and lots of penalties by the home squad, the Slovak team added another two goals, one of them on the power play, and won this very important game.

C. T R E B O V A – The Czech U18 girls’ national team started the Junior World Cup with a huge offensive performance and achieved its first three points without any big problems. Nevertheless, Team GB played a likeable game full of passion and effort. However, five minutes of the game, the Czechs took the early lead. In the second period, British goalie Charlotte Jackson had to unfortunately leave the game due to nausea and, because the team lacked a backup goalie, forward Kirsten Rean went into the net. Thanks to that fact, the Czechs scored 13 goals for a relatively easy win. One of the most dominant players of the match was obviously 17-year-old Kristyna Kaltounkova (4 goals) who also played at the recently completed ISBHF World Championship in Kosice.

Thursday´s U16 schedule of Junior World Cup started with a very interesting match when it comes to the both opponents. A national battle of teams from the same country, Czech U16 vs U15, was full of 1-on-1 battles and penalties. But a physically demanding game from the older Czech team was effective right from the start of the match. The U16 team took the lead after 48 seconds and gradually was more and more superior. A fantastic individual performance came from Lukas Novotny (HBC Svitkov Stars club), who achieved a hat trick and added one assist. Interestingly, he plays in same lineup which attracted spectators in Prerov during the 2018 Junior World Cup (Novotny was third in the players statistics). A year after, with the U16 squad, he helped his teammates to beat the younger Czechs 8-1.

The opening game ended with a very clear result of 13-0 for the Czech Republic. A huge part of the match was the hundreds of young fans in attendance, mainly from local primary schools. The stands full of excited children were covered in big slogans with flags and the whole atmosphere was spectacular.

The game between Slovakia and Canada West was well-balanced in the early minutes but the Slovak boys were the first to take the lead. However, the Canadians didn´t wait too long to respond and attacked quickly at the beginning of the second period. Team Slovakia picked up its power again and scored but it was not enough against Canada. This tense match ended in the last two minutes when the Canadian boys took advantage of their attack and achieved their first three points at this tournament.

He is supposed to be one of the future stars of ball hockey. Forward Zachary Dean from Team Canada East has so far confirmed at this Junior World Cup in Ceska Trebova that he is really special. He’s got great hands and he’s got a bomb of a shot. He makes players around him better. Dean, who also played at last year’s tournament in Prerov, opened this year’s against Great Britain with a hat trick, further showing that he is someone special in the ball hockey development program. “Our target is getting a gold medal!“ claims the captain of Canada East.

The third match of the tournament ended with a one-sided win in favour of Canada East. The opening four minutes were balanced, but then the goals started falling and they went only one way – into the British net. The second hat trick of the championship went to Canadian forward Zachary Dean.

The game between Great Britain and Slovakia had one-side ending. The Slovaks started to score after the first six minutes and they didn´t stop until the scoreline showed 11 goals. Great Britain didn´t come expecting to win the championship, but mainly for a new experience. Although many of the girls hadn´t ever played at any tournament before, they still have a passion for playing. The most productive players for Team Slovakia were Kristina Simnova and Romana Haluskova.

Both teams had already played their first matches, but both lost their premieres at this tournament. Slovakia wanted to bounce back from an unlucky 3-2 loss to Canada West, while the Czech U15 team lost 8-1 to their U16 compatriots. This game looked fairly balanced, but during the second period everything changed and Slovakia won 8-1 for the victory.

The captain of Canada West Luke Prokop led his team through the whole tournament to the U16 title at the Junior World Cup. His team won the gold medal game 3–1 over Slovakia.
