Your start of the tournament was full of offensive play and devastating superiority. What was the game from your point of view?
Personally, I am absolutely satisfied. We beat Britain 13-0. But it is a team game and my team played well, too. We have a game later tonight, so now it is crucial to come back and be ready for the match with the Czech Republic U16.
What was the main deciding factor of the game? Only your technical skills?
We have a lot of skills, that´s true. We also practiced up till a week before the tournament, so as the team we came together really quick. And that is the most important thing that it is the factor which make a success.
The GB was supposed to be an underdog. Was it harder when it comes to the motivation before the game?
Not at all. We played a game, that is what we come out to do. We do not let off, because we know we are leader of the tournament. And the way to the final game is really hard. And our target is a gold medal!
Was it absolutely ideal performance or you could find some small mistakes?
Obviously there were some mistakes. But that was a type of game which we can analyse, and we can try to fix majority of these faults in future.
Actually, are the games in the national team for you somehow special?
You can talk to players from foreign countries. For example, from the Great Britain. And you can make friendships in such a short period of time with people with the same passion for the sport. It is an amazing experience.
Canada West is the current defending champion at the Junior World Cup in the U16 pool. How intense is the rivalry between your teams when, in fact, both squads come from the same country?
We are both close, we cheer for each other. Nevertheless, when we play a game against the West, it is really tough.
You were in Prerov and Zlin, where the last edition of the tournament took place, so you have a fantastic opportunity to compare them. How would you evaluate the idea of the Junior World Cup?
I love the idea! It is a fantastic experience for young players to get involved in it. Especially for teens that are too young to play at the U18 or U20 world championships. You can travel, you can visit Europe where lots of my teammates have not been yet. You can see new different things, absolutely another culture, you can meet new people. It is fantastic, I really enjoyed it last year.
But you only finished in 5th place with the East. Was that a big disappointment?
It was a bad experience. Really hard for the whole team. We lost in the overtime game to the Czechs. After all, our team went for the Canada West games and we supported them, especially during the final game with Slovakia.
How do you like the environment in Ceska Trebova and the atmosphere?
It is a really nice, small city. I suppose that tonight´s game with the Czechs will be really special as far as the crowd and the atmosphere are concerned. We are really looking forward to it!
How did you adapt to the time difference between here and Canada?
We came up few days earlier, on Saturday. We got used to the time well. I am sure that the factor of jet lag will not influence our performance here in the Czech Republic.
