29. 6. 2018 | Redakce
The Slovakian women faced off against Great Britain on Friday morning, and the game started quickly, with several chances on both sides. The Slovaks were better, but they couldn´t score a goal. It broke at the end of the first period, when Slovaks scored three goals in very short time. Britains started second period very slowly, so they got another four balls in their net. Both teams knew the result is long time ago decided. Slovaks played very passivly. And what happend? Brits advantaged this an they were succesfull. Alexandra West got big achievement. She has scored first ever Britain goal on Women World Cup. Whole team wa happy. Whole stadium was screaming. Someting special. Although Brits had a lot of brakes, they couldn ´t score any more and the final score is 1-9

Reactions

Coach of Great Britain: The players showed they can play ball hockey. We played more offensively and we improved a little bit defensively. We scored the first ever-goal at a women´s World Cup and it´s awesome. I have to compliment the girls.

Coach of Slovakia: All the games are very difficult at this tournament. We had to think about yesterday´s loss to Canada because it was really unfortunate. Today, we played how we want to and we showed people that we can play. Now we have to get ready and rest up for tonight´s game against the Czechs.
