Canadian women earn second straight shutout win over USA

29. 6. 2018 | Derek O´Brien
It was the third game for the Americans and the second for the Canadians. In a game with plenty of chances, only two goals were scored, and both by Canada, who ran their record to 2-0, both shutouts. Kennedy Wheelan scored the first goal late in the first period and Megan Hurell late in the second. After that, it was all up to goaltender Serena Vilde, who stopped everything.

Reactions

Coach of Canada East: It was a good and tough battle, we certainly had more chances than them, but they had a good goaltending and defensive play. We only were able to get two goals, that says a lot about their team, and the strength and effort they put into it. In the end, we just had more capability and depth.
