A really tough game ended the schedule in Ceska Trebova on Thursday. The evening game was thrilling, especially for the fans, thanks to lots of breakaways and bounces. The big battle between two favourites of Junior World Cup was really tough, and after a penalty shot in the second period, Canada East got the superiority and was more effective on the power play. These facts helped the North American squad to an important 4-2 win. The most valuable and productive player of the match was Canadian forward Ryan Greene, who scored three of his team´s four goals.

Reactions

Shaun Gannon (head coach of Team Canada East): The game was like a championship final. The two teams, who were matched, were really fast and played the hard game well. The Czech team bright to us fast and hurried. I liked my team´s response, we were bearing down and coming back. We had some great moments of pressure and and we were forcing not to make mistakes. The boys are coming together well, I´m absolutely satistied with our today´s performance.

Jiri Christ (head coach of Czech Republic U16 Team): It was a a bit odd game. The penalty shot was speculative. It is really sad that it was the key moment of so important game of the group phase. After all, it was really tough game with lots penalties on both sides. We showed lots of game passion and effort. Unfortunately, we did not succeed.
